You were going to miss out on certain things (particularly if you screwed up a puzzle, that usually caused the doors to permanently lock) and that was okay (as long as it wasnt something *required* to win the run, of course). you absolutely were not meant to go do and collect absolutely everything. The first game had moments like this too. I'm thinking that's what I probably need to do to get in there. Like, I've got one area, the wind temple, where there's this door that wont open so long as there's a lot of wind, but the only Yendor Staff spell available is one that just CHANGES the direction of the wind, it doesnt cancel it.īut, there is a "calm wind" type of spell, seen that on the staff in other areas, but also, I could swear I saw it as a possible upgrade when I was slotting sigils into one of those magic rod items. Is it normal to find places that is impossible to get through unless you bring special equipment for it? An oddly specific one.Originally posted by Myth Alric:I don't have anything like that, since it is literally the first place I went after the starting town. I wouldn't expect that of, say, a single dev releasing his second lovecraftian survival horror turn-based rpg. Even if some devs/publishers will throw in a bone for the owners of their previous work (usually in the form of a discounted bundle), I guess it makes less financial sense for smaller teams to do it, especially if the game is already cheap to begin with. Oh don't mind me I'm just being grumpy for no real reason. At least I learned that practices like these are not too uncommon. I'm personally more than happy to pay the full price seeing as this series hasn't really blown up yet or anything so they're probably not swimming in dollar bills just yet. Which already is great and goes a long way in appreciating the fanbase. I haven't followed the development of this game all that much, but it seems like the dev(s) hear out the community more than usual.
